Style it Challenge

Ok, so you may have already seen that I am a finalist in a competition to find Wales' most stylish blogger. I got pretty excited and probably bugged a lot of my Twitter followers with updates about this. I entered the competition without fully reading what it would entail, so when I received the news that I was a finalist and would be taking part in a 'style it' challenge I was delighted but did think "uhh ohh...what have i gotten my self into".

So without repeating myself too much for the challenge we met at the RadissonBlu Hotel, I had never been there before so was excited to spend the day there. It was exactly how I had imagined it to look; smart, elegant and quite business like with astounding views of the city centre. For the ‘style it’ challenge we had to create three unique looks to complement the themes of the hotel rooms – fashion, fresh and chic. I had thought a bit about what I could do for each but seeing the rooms totally threw me off.

Top to bottom: Fashion, Chic, Fresh.

After a quick tour and a coffee we headed off to spend the morning in the St Davids shopping centre where there was a handful of shops (JohnLewis, River Island, Oasis, Warehouse) in which we had a rail set aside for us to choose items for our outfits and of course there was no budget! I ran off exploring every corner of John Lewis, picking anything from garments to accessories. It's harder than you think when there’s a challenge to think about and I had to stop and think to myself 'would I buy this?' (if money was no object).

A couple hours later after many trips to the changing rooms and a few breakdowns we headed back to the Radisson, arms full of shopping bags, with all items which are now on my shopping list.... the thought of returning them later was a bit depressing!
We were then shown to the room where we could spend some time getting glammed up for a photo shoot which captured us in our three looks for a double page feature within the Western Mail/South Wales Echo. The best part was being greeted with bubbly and nibbles... it was exactly what I needed to relax after what was probably the most hectic shopping trip ever. A few outfit changes later and a sufficient amount of hand on hip posing for the photographer it was all over. I was then interviewed for the article and afterwards we handed back all the garments/accessories and the most perfect pair of Kurt Geiger heels which i had become so attached to.

Not only will the winner take the coveted title adding extra credibility and exposure to our blog, but we also win a night’s stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel, dinner at the hotel’s Italian restaurant Filini and £100 worth of vouchers to spend in St David’s. I had such a fun day and a brilliant experience thanks to St Davids, The Radisson Blu Hotel and Wales Media. The winner will be chosen via an online poll on
www.walesonline.co.uk so keep your eyes peeled to see the three outfits I picked and I will let you know once the the voting is open (more than likely via plenty of Tweets.)

P.S - Vote for me ; )
